Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is a Mexican American journalist. Her current role is a sportscaster for ESPN who is also an anchor of SportsCenter news and hosting SportsNation. She joined ESPN as a reporter in the year 2016. She's the daughter of TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is bilingual since the age of nine. Her skills were instrumental in helping her land her first job as a production assistant for Univision Miami, where she worked with the producers of numerous shows, including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. When she was in St. Petersburg, she was later recruited by the CBS station to work as a sports journalist. In 2009, she moved from Texas in the Rio Grande Valley where she was a news reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision. Covering stories related to the trafficking of drugs and immigration on both sides the Texas-Mexico Border, she served as reporter for news for the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 at 5 pm. She was as a reporter for news on English for 9 pm, then a news anchor for 10 pm, and then returned back to channel Spanish channel. In addition, she was frequently called upon to be an anchor for sports and weather. Then she became the anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. In the following years, she was given greater responsibilities. She wrote pieces on Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS as well as the World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason Finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. The Univision 23 channel also produced her local sports channel Accion Deportiva Extra, on where she was anchor. She was promoted to sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The anchor also worked in the same capacity as the show's magazine Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins' parents are born in Veracruz Mexico. Her birth date was November 22nd the 22nd of November, 1985, in Mexico City. Also, she has an older sister. She has an older sister. Soon after the family split up, and in the year 1995, Fabio Fajardo was remarried. He passed away from kidney cancer in the year 2006. It was during a time of summer when she was with her younger sister in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured the job. Antonietta is a senior in high school but she had a clear idea of the path she wanted. When she was deciding whether Mount Union would be a good fit for her Antonietta visited the university. In the end, she loved the campus and they were offering the degree she was searching for. When she completed her high school education she was accepted into the University to pursue media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and also the head of WRMU and WRMU, which she is a member. They developed a close relationship. He was the one who boosted her faith and confidence, as well as whose enthusiasm for Journalism deeply touched her. As a result, she strived to fulfill his expectations always delivering on time.
